Cate Blanchett is an Australian actress and theatre director. She was born on May 14, 1969, in Melbourne, Australia.
Blanchett has won numerous accolades for her acting career, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and three British Academy Film Awards.
Blanchett started her career on the stage in Australia before transitioning to film. She gained international recognition for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in the film “Elizabeth” (1998), for which she received her first Academy Award nomination.

She has since appeared in many critically acclaimed films, including “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “The Aviator”, “Babel”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, “Blue Jasmine”, and “Thor: Ragnarok”.
In addition to her acting career, Blanchett is also known for her work as a humanitarian and has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2016.
She was also appointed as the Jury President of the 71st Cannes Film Festival in 2018.
Cate Blanchett has been married to Andrew Upton since December 1997. Andrew Upton is an Australian playwright, screenwriter, and director.
The couple met in 1996 when they were both working on a TV show and got married the following year. They have four children together, including two adopted children.
Andrew Upton has worked with Blanchett on several projects, including serving as the co-artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company with her from 2008 to 2012.
